Accounting Technician

Under the supervision of the Financial Controller, the Accounting Technician ensures the accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations, while verifying the compliance of suppliers and subcontractors. By proactively managing accounts payable and receivable, they play a key role in the reliability of financial data. Through their attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and collaboration with the project team, they actively contribute to the company's financial performance and the optimization of accounting practices.

• Enter invoices, match them to purchase orders, and ensure their accuracy and compliance
• Process payments according to agreed terms (including credit card payments upon authorization) and take advantage of discounts when possible
• Manage accounts payable and resolve related issues
• Follow up on credit notes, returns, and missing invoices based on supplier statements
• Verify and reconcile credit card transactions with monthly statements
• Open vendor accounts and ensure subcontractor compliance (tax numbers, RBQ license, Revenu Québec certificates, etc.)
• Record received payments in the accounting software
• Keep the accounts receivable list up to date
• Follow up in collaboration with project managers
• Maintain professional communication with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
• Obtain invoice approvals from project managers
• Perform bank reconciliations for certain group entities
• Participate in month-end closings and year-end file preparation
• Assist the Financial Controller with various administrative tasks
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of current processes
• Change the server backup tapes every two days

• Comfortable working with accounting software (Vision or equivalent)
• Functional proficiency in Excel and ease with web navigation
• Strong logical and analytical thinking
• Organized, structured, and methodical
• Great attention to detail and high-quality work
• Ability to handle unexpected situations with sound judgment
• Reliable, responsible, and autonomous
• Efficient without compromising quality
