Accounting Technician

Full-time, temporary (maternity leave replacement for approximately 12 months)

Under the supervision of the financial controller, the accounting technician is responsible for processing accounts payable and receivable, performing bank reconciliations, and managing supplier accounts. They contribute to the reliability of financial information through their attention to detail and organizational skills. 

• Process vendor invoices, match them to purchase orders, and ensure their compliance 

• Manage accounts payable: payments, tracking account statements, credit memos, returns, and troubleshooting 

• Verify and reconcile credit card statements and bank statements for certain group entities 

• Open and maintain vendor and subcontractor files, ensuring their compliance (RBQ, taxes, Revenue Québec, etc.) 

• Record payments received and track accounts receivable 

• Collaborate with project managers on invoice approval and follow-up 

• Maintain professional relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors 

• Participate in monthly closings and year-end preparations 

• Assist the financial controller with various administrative tasks and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes 

• Perform any other related tasks 

• Proficient with accounting software (Vision or equivalent) and the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel 

• Strong logical and analytical skills 

• Organized, methodical, and thorough, with a keen eye for detail 

• Ability to manage priorities and handle unexpected situations with sound judgment 

• Self-reliant, reliable, and responsible 

• Efficient in performing your work while maintaining a high standard of quality 

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills with various stakeholders 

• Temporary position lasting approximately 12 months (maternity leave replacement) 

• Daytime schedule, Monday through Friday
